A few days later they were scheduled to cross the Atlantic on the Titanic. They traveled to America on the Mauritania, which had also been the ship on which they had met. The Mauritania was the first ship to set sail after the sinking of the Titanic on April 15, 1912. &lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt; This memorial card was found with the personal papers of Frances E. He survived a plane crash and went on to a distinguished career in avionics with the Federal Aviation Administration in Chicago and Indianapolis. &lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;Nelson married Arlene Elizabeth Pritchard. Nelson and Arlene had 9 children - 4 girls and 5 boys (Arlene, Marianne, Francine, Susan, Nelson, Victor, Edwin, Gerard, and Benjamin).
